The Southern Railway is a major part of the Indian Railway’s story in this country of more than a billion people, most of who travel on the trains. Indian Railway has very rightly diluted the work of recruiting to the 19 Railway Recruitment Boards spread across the different zones of the country. Covering a crucial part of the recruitment in the south regions is Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Secunderabad for several years now.

Brief History

Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Secunderabad was set up in the year 1978 by the Indian Railway. This Board is entrusted with the task of recruitment for the various divisions and workshops under the Southern Railway including the Head Quarters of South Central Railway, Indian Railway Institute of Signal Engineering Secunderabad. Recently in 1994, the jurisdiction of Vishakhapatnam Division was attached to this RRB for recruitment purpose. The main aim for Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Secunderabad is to get the recruitment of talents for the railways done is a very effective manner while rationalizing the work load and to reach out to even far flung regions in the country for the benefits of aspirants. Basically they are also to expedite the process for recruitment and make it quick.

Jurisdiction and Organization

Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Secunderabad is to recruit Group ‘C’ and Group ‘D’ category of personnel for the Technical and Non-technical positions on the basis of indents by Chief Selection Officer, South Central and East Coat Railways. The RRB Secunderabad has to do the recruitment for the region consisting of Hyderabad, Vijaywada, Guntur, Guntakal, Nanded Division and the Head Quarter of South Central Railway. Its jurisdiction also includes the Vishakhapatnam Division in the East Coast Railway.

The working of the Secunderabad RRB is headed by Chairman and he is assisted by a Member Secretary and Assistant Secretary along with a team of Group C & D staff working on weekdays. They are taking the initiatives forward and also get help for the division heads in case of any recruitment drive scheduled.

Method of Selection

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Secunderabad makes selection wholly based on the merit of the candidates and under the orders of the Ministry of Railways (Government of India). The provision of reservation for the under privileged Scheduled Castes and Tribes, Other Backward Castes is followed while allotting the seats to deserving candidates. The process includes only written examination as the interview round has been mostly done away except for a few specific posts.  The exams are objective type based and have negative markings as well. The syllabus is commensurate with the described qualification for the particular posts. The exams are to test General Knowledge, Reasoning/ Analytical Abilities in technical subjects. The language proficiency is also tested for some posts. There are single stage written test and second stage as well but the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Secunderabad can at any instance ask the candidate to appear in the second stage due to heavy inflow of applications or any reason it deems necessary. The results to successful candidates are made known through personal letters, on the Notice Board of RRB and the official website of RRB at www.rrbsecunderabad.nic.in.
Application Fee
Candidates belonging to General and OBC Category have to pay Application Fee Rs. 60/-. Candidates pay fee in the form of Demand Draft and pay in favour of Assistant Secretary, Railway Recruitment Board, Secunderabad, payable at Secunderabad. For candidates belonging to SC/ST need not to pay fee they are exempted from paying fee.

Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) Results 2013 Declared by Indian Air Force ( IAF) and AFCAT 1/2013 Cut Off Marks Analysis Detail www.careerairforce.nic.in All the AFCAT Aspirants are informed that Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) Results is going to announce/declared around the Last Week of March, 2013.
